The Lundy Field Society is seeking an Honorary Treasurer to join its committee following the Annual General Meeting in May. The Honorary Treasurer is a volunteer role responsible for overseeing the Society’s financial administration and supporting the committee in ensuring that funds are managed appropriately.
The role requires the postholder to serve as a Trustee of the Lundy Field Society and offers an opportunity to contribute to the continued success of the Society.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining records of income and expenditure
- Managing the society’s bank accounts
- Liaising with the Society's investment company
- Preparing periodic financial updates for committee meetings
- Producing and presenting a financial summary for the Annual General Meeting
The time commitment varies during the year. Typically it is around 3–6 hours per month, with additional time required during busier periods such as finalising the accounts, events, or preparation for the AGM.
Although a desirable skill, the role does not require formal accounting qualifications. The successful volunteer will be organised, reliable, and comfortable handling basic financial information. A full handover will be provided by the current Treasurer.
