With great sadness, we have heard of the passing of Dave (Brummie) Preece, a lifetime member of the LFS. Dave had been attending LFS working parties for over 25 years, often more than one per year.

He had been the group leader on many occasions and was always a valuable member, with his wealth of knowledge and stories of Lundy and previous working parties. He was there at the start of the rhododendron eradication program when the stumps were winched out of the ground onto the top of the island to be destroyed, a very labour-intensive task. Dave will be fondly remembered by many LFS volunteers, Lundy staff and Lundy visitors. RIP Dave Preece, T.L.T., The Lundy Troglodyte
