We are very sorry to have to tell you that Myrtle Ternstrom died very peacefully in Devon on Wednesday 29th March. Her daughter Alex was with her.

Myrtle had visited Lundy regularly since 1952 and she made a tremendous contribution to our knowledge of Lundy's history. She wrote and published so much about the island including the first modern histories about the island with Tony Langham and she was joint editor of Felix Gade's memoir, 'My Life on Lundy'. Her PhD was awarded for her research into the island's history in the period 1577 to 1969.

Myrtle was active in the LFS for many years and was elected a Vice President in 1998.

Her funeral will be held on Monday 10th April at East Devon Crematorium at 4.00pm, and afterwards at the Globe Inn, Lympstone. All Lundy friends will be very welcome.
