Hugh Boyd, who served as the second LFS Warden (1948-49), before going on to become an ornithologist of global renown, passed away at an Ottowa care home on 3 July after suffering from several years of debilitating ill health.

Tim Jones and Tim Davis remark:-

"Hugh was an enormous source of both inspiration and highly respected advice when we were working on The Birds of Lundy and we were fortunate to share in what turned out to be Hugh’s final visit to the island, when the three of us stayed in Square Cottage in the autumn of 2007."

An obituary has been published in the Daily Telegraph and there will be a further note in the 2016 Annual Report in due course. The Committee will send a card to Hugh's wife Gillian and we will also keep you updated with regard to any fund set up in memory of Hugh.
